Authorities in northern New Jersey say a man twice abducted women by impersonating a police officer, drove them to a cemetery and sexually assaulted them.
Thirty-nine-year-old Donell Anderson of Montclair was arrested Friday after his second victim managed to escape and called 911.
Police say Anderson stopped the 38-year-old Newark woman on the street in Irvington, showed a badge and told her there was a warrant for her arrest. He then drove her to an Irvington cemetery.
On Monday, police also charged him with sexually assaulting a 22-year-old Newark woman with autism he encountered as she got off a bus.
Anderson is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office did not know if he had retained an attorney.
